The Gods

Hestia
Hestia is the Goddess of Hearth. Her parents are Rhea and Kronos. When you arrive at a new town, you first go to the town hearth and claim sanctuary. If you do that, everyone in the place will have to help you, or face punishments. 

Hera
Hera is the Goddess of Family and Marriage. Her parents are Rhea and Kronos. She is married to Zeus. She is mother to Ares, and Hephaestus. Her sacred animals are the peacock and the cow, and her sacred plants are pomegranates.

Zeus
Zeus is the God of the Sky. His parents are Rhea and Kronos. He is married to Hera and Demeter. He is father to Ares, Persephone, Athena, Hermes, Apollo, Dionysus and Artemis. His sacred animal is the eagle and his sacred plant is the oak tree.

Demeter
Demeter is the Goddess of Agriculture. Her parents are Rhea and Kronos. She is married to Zeus and Poseidon (although she didn’t really want to). She is mother to Persephone and Arion. Her sacred animals are the Serpent and the Pig and her sacred plant is Wheat.

Poseidon
Poseidon is the God of the Sea. His parents are Rhea and Kronos. He is married to Demeter and Amphirite. He is father to Arion, Triton, Rhodes, and Kymopoleia. His sacred animal is the Horse (because he created them) and his sacred plant is the Pine Tree.

Hades
Hades is the God of the Underworld. His parents are Rhea and Kronos. He is married to Persophone. His sacred animals are Cerberus (the three-headed dog who guards the gates of the Underworld) and his sacred plant is the Cypress Tree.

Hephaestus
Hephaestus is the God of Blacksmiths. His mom is Hera, he has no dad. He is married to Aphrodite. His sacred animal is the Donkey.

Aphrodite
Aphrodite is the Goddess of Love. She has no parents because she spawned from Ouranos’ blood. She is married to Hephaestus and Ares. Her sacred animal is the bunny, her sacred plant is celery. 

Ares
Ares is the God of War. His parents are Zeus and Hera. He is married to Aphrodite. His sacred animal is the Boar and he has no sacred plant.

Persephone
Persephone is the Goddess of Spring. Her parents are Zeus and Demeter. She is married to Hades. Her sacred plants are mint and pomegranate.

Athena
Athena is the Goddess of Wisdom and Warfare. Her parents are Zeus and Metis. She sprung from Zeus’ head. She is an eternal maiden. Her sacred animal is the Owl and her sacred plant is the Olive Tree.

Dionysus
Dionysus is the God of Wine. His parents are Semele and Zeus. He became a god by gathering a bunch of followers and showing them wine. He is married to Ariadne. His sacred plant is the grapevine and his sacred animal is the leopard. 

Hermes
Hermes is the God of anything that uses roads, and cow-herding, and telling fortunes with dice. His parents are Zeus and Maia. His sacred animal is the cow.

Apollo
Apollo is the God of archery, music, poetry, the oracle of Delphi and the Sun. His parents are Leto and Zeus. His sacred animal is the Python - because he slayed Python. His sacred plants are Hyacinth and Laurel tree. He fell in love with a river nymph but the river nymph didn’t love him back so the river nymph prayed to Gaea to stay safe and Gaea turned her into a laurel tree.

Artemis
Artemis is the Goddess of Hunt and the Moon. Her parents are Leto and Zeus. Her sacred animals are dogs and wolves.

Arion
Arion is not a God. He is an Immortal Horse. His parents are Poseidon and Demeter. He can run faster than the speed of sound and helps many heroes.
